The nitty-gritty:
(Summaries of our policies & procedures)
-
Sound Speech Yeppoon is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information we collect and hold about individuals. We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Speech Pathology Australia’s Code of Ethics.
Our full Privacy Policy (available here) explains how Sound Speech Yeppoon manages the personal information we collect, use and disclose.

Our cancellation policy reflects the time set aside for each appointment. Due to the individualised nature of our services it is unlikely that a cancelled session timeslot will be able to be filled by another client at short notice.
Sessions cancelled or non-attended with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged at 100% of the regular session fee.
Exceptional circumstances are considered on a case-by-case basis by the Sound Speech Director.
Please note that requests to change from face-to-face clinic-based to telehealth will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may require greater than 48 hours’ notice to allow for the session planning associated with this change of delivery method.
Our business hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, cancellation notifications outside of these hours will be regarded as being received 9am the next business day.
-
Please stay home if you are unwell & contact us to cancel, reschedule or consider asking to switch to a telehealth session.
We follow the Time Out guidelines as per the Public Health Regulation Act 2018 for the protection of both staff and all of our clients from the spread of infectious conditions.
If you or your child arrives ill, you will be asked to leave and full charges for the session timeslot will apply.
Please note that requests to change sessions from face-to-face in-clinic to telehealth will be considered and may require >48hrs notice to allow for the session planning associated with this change of delivery method.
-
Sound Speech Yeppoon attempts where possible to offer make-up sessions, as they are often in the client's best interest.
Make-up sessions are offered at the discretion of the Director where possible within the clinician’s schedule and may not be offered when there is a violation of the cancellation policy.
-
Regular attendance is deemed essential to progress in most interventions.
Sound Speech Yeppoon reserves the right to discontinue services if appointments are regularly rescheduled, cancelled or non-attended.
Your attendance rate is not affected by public holidays or cancellations by your clinician.
-
If you have a regular time slot and plan on discontinuing services for any reason, you must give us one weeks' notice.
Likewise, we must also give you at least one weeks’ notice if sessions will be discontinued for any breach of policy or other reason.
